About Us

ABOUT US!

We stress the importance of affordability, having a price range for all. Fashion should be affordable, attainable and fun. It is a form of self expression, creativity and individuality. Our timeless pieces paired with our more unique pieces allow you to express your individuality and tell the world who you are. That is why we offer a wide range of styles and price points - you should never feel bad about treating yourself!

We want to empower you to stay young at heart, be strong, be outspoken, creative and live in your truth. Be you boo, be you!

We feel the most ourselves when we dress like ourselves, for ourselves and jewellery is always the cherry on top of a fire outfit.
How we started:
We started during covid. I needed another creative outlet because I was working part-time. My mum mentioned jewellery. Then I remembered when I was in middle school I used to make jewellery and give it to my aunt to sell at her work. To be honest I think she just ended up buying it all because she felt bad for me haha... That was the driving force to start Sweet and Spicy Jewls. It was also a great way to get more into fashion because I was already a lifestyle and fashion blogger, so it seemed to be a natural next step!
We first started with our fashion jewellery:
Fun, unique pieces that can be worn everyday or for special occasions.
As we grew, we realised the need for more basic pieces. Jewellery that is great for a base to layer on top of. Everyday pieces you can wear on its own or add to with our fashion jewellery to take it up a notch! That is when we started our tarnish free collection
Tarnish free collection:
Are staple pieces that will last you a lifetime, pieces that everyone needs in their collection. These pieces you never have to take off they are - tarnish free, waterproof and hypoallergenic !
I also started this collection because I wanted pieces I could wear 24/7 during all my workouts, hot yoga classes and on vacation. Jewellery I can swim in and not have to worry about taking off, losing or getting tangled.
ITS ALL IN THE NAME
Sweet and Spicy
Sweet and Spicy Jewls is named after my personality. I can be very Sweet, but also very Spicy. Spicy in a good way- a little bit of attitude, some dry humour, and some sass... it keeps things interesting ;)
We should  embrace all sides of ourselves, all of our moods and emotions. It is also okay not to have one aesthetic, one style, one mood etc.. I gravitate to mutilate styles. I can wear a very feminine dress one day (Sweet) then wear a very grungy look the next (Spicy).
Sweet and Spicy is an empowerment! For you to be you, feel like you. Fashion is an expression of you and jewellery is tied to that.
We want to have jewellery for everyone! Pieces that can speak to and resonate with you.
Pieces you can layer with each other, wear on its own and mix and match based on your mood or the style you want to express.
The Jewls
I purposely spelt jewels wrong. I spelt it with one "e", jewls. I did this because I was never interested in school. I knew from a very young age it was not something that would help me to succeed in life. Yes, it was good socialisation, but unless I wanted to be a doctor or lawyer I knew it was not for me.
Taking out the "e" is a representation that it does not matter about your education. As long as you have the drive and passion you will be successful. So start a business and excel in your career!

ABOUT THE CREATOR!
She was first a blogger, then a jewellery maker, but always interested in fashion!
I have always been interested in a million different things growing up, which made it hard for me to pick a career path. I don't know who put it in my head that I could only do one thing with my life. I have a passion for everything creative and as I get older in life I become passionate about more things!
I was very fortunate to have a mother that let me take dance classes, swimming, skating, horseback riding lessons etc...
As I got older I continued to have that passion to try new things and explore my different interests.
I used to model, act. Then I got certificates in cake decorating. Then I got my certification in makeup and artistry. Then I got a diploma in event planning. Then I got another diploma in interior decorating.
I never had a direction for a career path to pursue. I left it to blind faith, literally blind faith!
I applied to five random collage programs-that I knew were creative and I was interested in. I got accepted to all of them. When it came time to pick which one to pursue I closed my eyes and pointed at the screen, moved my finger up and down and the one it landed on when my finger stopped was event planning. The second college program (interior decorating) I picked because one : my mum told me to have a backup plan encase I could not find a job in event planning, two: I always admired interior decorating.
Clearly, I have always loved to try new things.I was always stressed that I did not know what I wanted to do with my life. However, by just doing whatever made me happy and filled my creativity helped to lead me to where I am today and I know now that this is what I was meant to do.
Following your passions will help to get you where you need to be in life.
So this is a blog to share all my passions: fashion, beauty, baking, event planning, interior decorating, life moments and everything creative!
